Chinese business under major threat

A Chinese business owner had his life threatened by his employees after demanding a wage increase.

The employees are dissatisfied with their pay at the manufacturing company and decided to protest in the streets of Ekangala, Mpumalanga.

The strike lasted for a long time leading because of no settlement or agreements being reached, causing a huge financial loss for the business due to no production.

The police liaison officer Consular Wang Zhigang, secretary Mr Zhu Di, Chinese Community Police Forum Chairman Mr Chen Fuzhou visited the manufacturing company on September 24 hoping to find a solution.

Consular Wang Zhigang also visited the local police station seeking protection for Chinese nationals in the area and to increase security measures in and around the business.

The issue has since been stabilised.
