The Chinese CPF received a report from a Chinese national that his family was being detained and investigated by Home Affairs at OR Tambo International Airport.
The Chinese CPF found that the detainee’s current visa did not reflect on the system which led to Home Affairs being suspicious.
The Chinese CPF contacted a lawyer to assist with the case. The lawyer found that the visa was issued by the Johannesburg Home Affairs Office but the detainee’s personal information was incomplete in the system. They provided proof that the visa was correct and properly issued and that the mistake was made on their part.
The Chinese CPF office was relieved that the matter was resolved urgently and continued to warn the community to verify that all they information and visa documents coordinate with the departments in order for such mistakes not to occur.
