The first Lady of China,wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping Mrs Peng Liyuan said on Tuesday that China is ready to cooperate with African countries in HIV and AIDS prevention.
Peng said China will share its experience in preventing the diseases with Malawi and other African nations, and enhance coordination with regional institutions, including the Organization of African First Ladies Against HIV/AIDS (OAFLA).China-Africa collaboration in HIV and AIDS prevention has made significant progress, Peng told the First Lady of Malawi Gertrude Mutharika,
Peng said children orphaned by AIDS, despite their nationality or race, are the future of the world And that It is the common responsibility of society to love and care for children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, so that they can grow up soundly and happily.
China will consistently support the African countries in fighting AIDS, support the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Program on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) on AIDS prevention and control in Africa, and support Africa’s programs on medical infrastructure as well as women’s and children’s healthcare, said Peng.
Gertrude Mutharika, also vice president of the OAFLA, applauded China’s contribution to Africa’s public health, especially the health of women and children as well as HIV and AIDS prevention
Both sides also exchanged views on China-Malawi relations and friendship.
