The new Public and Political Affairs Officer of the Chinese Embassy Zhang Yungui has arrived to succeed Mr. Li as the Embassy’s Public and Political Affairs in Sierra Leone. Talking to Mr. Yungui, he said this is his second posting since he graduated in 2015. “My first posting was in South Sudan where I spent one month and was recalled due to the war,” he said.
The new Public Affairs Attaché said he is happy to be in Sierra Leone and the first week he has been around has been very interesting as he has met many Sierra Leoneans that are friendly and helpful.
“I believe I will have a good time working in Sierra Leone as I have started enjoying the weather and the landscape of the country,” Zhang acknowledged.
Zhang Yungui said before coming to Sierra Leone he has read about the country and the excellent relationship between the two countries. He said all the Chinese diplomats coming to Sierra Leone are of high calibre and his country wants the best out of them.
“I am here to do my best and make sure that both countries benefited from each other and to continue the mutual respect between the two so that the relationship will be stronger. Also I am coming at a time when both countries are celebrating 45 years of fruitful relationship, which has been celebrated both in China and Sierra Leone.
Zhang said he has come in time to receive the new Ambassador and they are preparing the ground for him. He said in the next two weeks the new Ambassador Wu Peng is expected to arrive and he is coming with lots of energy to continue building on the fraternal relationship between China and Sierra Leone in the coming years.
