Reporters on trip to discover China-Africa cooperation fruits

A joint reporting activity that involves major media outlets of China and Africa has been launched.

Reporters will visit Chinese-funded enterpriese and research institutes in Tanzania and Kenya to find out how much progress has been made in China-Africa cooperation.

Sun Zhijun, with the publicity department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee said he expected the activity to help people from both sides better understand each other.

“Media cooperation is an important bond promoting mutual understanding and friendship between China and Africa. The activity will try to collect experiences of successful Chinese-funded enterprieses in Africa, showcase the fruits of the Sino-African cooperation and help both the African and Chinese people learn more about the development of Chinese firms in Africa and the huge potential for investment in Africa, so as to encourage more Chinese enterprieses to invest in Africa and boost Sino-African economic cooperation and trade.”

Nape Nnauye, Tanzania’s Minister of Information, Culture, Artists and Sports, looks foward to positive effects of the reporting activity.

“With the Tanzania-China relations further developing, more and more Chinese companies come to invest in Tanzania and help the country in the fight against poverty. Media plays an important role in shortening the distance between the African and Chinese people, publicizing stories of the African development. I think Chiness reporters, along with their African colleagues, will help a lot with promoting China-Africa media cooperation, expanding cooperation scope and playing a role in building China-Africa strategic partnership.”

The reporting activity attracts more than 40 journalists from 30 media organizations from China and Africa.
