The National School of Arts students performing a contemporary dance at the 2017 Spring Festival which was hosted by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Johannesburg. The Spring festival, commonly known as the Chinese New Year, is commemorated annually during this time of the year according to the Chinese calendar. This year’s festivities are held under ‘the year of the Rooster’ and this is where the Chinese foster good relations with their families and their native country men and women. The extravagant event took place at the Houghton Golf Club, it was used to set the tone for the actual event planned for this weekend at Marshall Town, Commissioner Street near the Central Police Station.
