Students from the National School of Arts (NSA) staged a soothing performance to sooth guests attending a pre-celebration of the Chinese New Year function held at the Houghton Golf Club on 25. 01. 2017. The function was well attended and supported by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China’s high ranking officials, the South Africa’s Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) delegates as well as other Chinese stakeholders from various parts of the society. NSA students graced the function with their spectacular performance that left many wanting more. The occasion is one of the many series of events that are taking place across the globe in preparations of the main Spring Festival which will be celebrated this Saturday. The celebration in Johannesburg will be held at Marshall Town, Commissioner Street near the Central Police Station at 6pm. Traditional Dragons and firecrackers are expected to be the order of the evening with the Chinese community wishing each other joy and prosperity.
