Africa Hub: A collaboration platform for Africa’s businesses

For Africa to flourish economically it needs to work together and Africa Hub is offering a platform for the continent’s businesses to collaborate and create its own business network.

The network will enable intra-Africa trade, first with an aims to create opportunities for local businesses to amalgamate and then subsequently later it will open doors for them to tap into other markets internationally.

African entrepreneurs and SMMEs as well as other informal traders are invited to join this business network that aims to give Africa’s businesses a head-start into the business world.

This will also give businesses a chance to re-position their brands into the global markets through business-to-business interactions.

Africa Hub is a brainchild of China Southern Africa Trade & Expo Center in Johannesburg and it’s also a gateway to China for companies that are interested in doing business in Asia.

The official opening of Africa Hub is expected in February with close partnerships with Chinese businesses abroad – partnerships that enable locals to import or export products to and from China respectively.

The idea emerged following the recent China Trader Expo held at the Crown Mines where well over 100 companies from China and South Africa collaborated and showcased their variety of products to over a thousand of visitors from different parts of the world.

There were manufacturers, designers as well as product distributors who exhibited at the four-day event.

Following the exhibition, Chinese companies echoed their interest to form partnerships with African businesses.

Africa Hub was then conceived to mobilise all African entrepreneurs and SMMEs to collaborate and create opportunities to work with their Chinese counterparts.
