Chinese twins excel in Rowing Championship

Chinese twins from St John’s College; JACK HUANG & THOMAS HUANG, received Silver Medals in the 2016 South Africa Schools Rowing Championships last week and have excelled in Rowing competitions since they began in the sport.

The Chinese twins who fall beneath the Under16 age group competed in three competitions that included; pairs, quad and 8+ all 2 km races. They won silver medals as part of the 8+ and came in fourth place in the quad race.

In total, there were 39 schools & rowing clubs from all over South Africa have taken part in 2016 South Africa Schools Rowing Championships and a total of 1000 boats competed in 177 competitions.

Earlier this year, JACK HUANG & THOMAS HUANG, took part in the 2km Buffalo Regatta race  where they came in fourth place in their pair race and came in at second place in the 500m Selborne Sprint Regatta in East London, winning them a Silver Medal. Their 8+ team won gold medals in both competitions.

Between the 4th and 6th of March St Johns College Rowing Club came in 2nd place in all rounds and competitions.
