Chinese New Year Event
On Saturday, February 13, a Chinese New Year event will be held in Cyrildene, Johannesburg.
The members of the ChinaTown Johannesburg Community Committee wish all friends in South Africa could come and join them in celebrating the Lunar New Year.
According to the Chinese calendar, the New Year will fall on February 8, 2016 and last until January 27, 2017. According to the Chinese Horoscope; the year 2016 is the year of the Red Monkey.
The event will be held at no.25 Hettie Street, Cyrildene. It begins at 17:30 and ends will end at 22:30.
There will be various entertainment provided including; a lion and dragon dace with fireworks display.
Chinese New Year is widely celebrated across the world, with big celebrations taking place out of Asia. South Africa is home to the most Chinese nationals in Africa whilst most of them reside in Johannesburg.
